You can expect January Camp to educate, motivate, and transform athletes and coaches by current LSU softball staff, current & former LSU athletes, National Pro Fastpitch players, professional clinicians, and top college coaches from across the country. Our goal is to spread as much skill instruction and fundamental drills as possible in the two days of working together for a unique experience.

Hitting sessions will offer drills and philosophies aimed at creating power, recognizing pitches, improving plate approach (contact points & vision) while working on the mental game.

Pitching sessions will be broken up by specific pitch and focus on the entire fundamental base of each pitch. From there advanced skills and spin will be taught through spin drills, body position, & live throwing. Strength and core will also be a major focus for the upper age groups in order to work on creating speed and power. In the afternoon, pitchers will throw to catchers with the aim of transferring the skills to full pitching.

The Coaches Clinic is a chance for coaches in our community to join the camp for one day or two days and learn from some of the best coaches in the country. Coaches will attend “classroom” learning sessions, side by side coaching instruction during camp drills, and live on field practice sessions with LSU team and coaches.
